Chapel Snowdrops The immediate surrounding area is one of particularly outstanding natural beauty. In the winter, you will find the gardens of the church are awash with snowdrops and other interesting plants and in the warmer months the lush greenery inspires undisturbed peace and tranquility. If synthetic things are more your interest, the masonry work and stained-glass window are sure to grab your attention. On the wall surrounding the church is an interesting, original Victorian postbox.
Upon leaving the church and heading down the hill, one of the first things you will come across is the beautiful Huccaby Bridge crossing the West Dart River. After crossing the bridge you can either walk along the road (which gets quite steep) through the village of Hexworthy, or take the footpath to your right that skirts around the village. Either way, you will conveniently arrive at the New Forest Inn - a lovely, traditional pub offering a range of ales, food and accomodation with a friendly service and good atmosphere.
